This is a repeat from last month (original). Mike really liked this picture and wanted a copy. I wasn’t totally happy with the contrast and color of it so I played around with the image in photoshop. I really like how it turned out after fixing it up. I also was quite suprised with the amount of play that I had with the image, given the fact that the Panasonic shoots only jpgs.

Ratings

When Ashley and I were driving back from our excursion to the Marin Headlands today we were talking about the rating system I have on my blog. She said that she had noticed it and didn’t feel comfortable rating the photos. I told her, and am now telling you, please rate them.

The reason I put the rating system on the blog was to help me improve as a photographer. When I post an image I know how I feel about it, how it resonates with me, and what I think works (or doesn’t work) visually with the image. But without feedback, I don’t know if my perception is correct. I actually do look at the ratings on a regular basis, I compare how the image is rated by me and by everyone else and then evaluate why it may be so. So please, don’t be afraid to rate them, do it on your gut instinct, and do it often.

I always appreciate your comments, if you rate it good or bad and want to tell me why, please do. If you don’t want to say it publicly, e-mail me. Bottom line, your feedback makes me a better photographer and I want to be a better photographer.
