Sunday Morning Find

This morning I found a leaf in my front yard and was really drawn to the “eye” on the left side. Before I went to brunch, I set up a quick little macro photo shoot to capture my Sunday morning find.

Coal-ed

A big thanks to Donnie for not only coming up with the idea, but being willing to be “coal-ed”.

Rockin Out 2.0

So I’ve been messing around with this photo tonight, since I wasn’t quite happy with the crop. Do you like the 2.0 version better?

Rockin’ Out

So after the madness of Green Second Saturday, I popped over to the Fox and Goose to hear some friends play. I just finished processing the photos and thought I’d share my favorite. Here’s The Polymers rockin’ out.

**Update: The more I look at the photo, the more I think I need to crop out the lamp in the top corner. Do you all agree?

To Appease the Masses…

So I was harassed at work today because I’ve been a slacker at posting new photos on the blog the last couple of weeks. To appease my public (but really because I need feedback) I’m posting the first photo that I processed from the photo shoot I conned Pam into over the weekend. We did a kid-for-a-day photo shoot. I made Pam put on all her favorite clothes (at once) and then made her go out in public wearing them. She rode her bike, climbed a tree, skipped, and of course played with plants. I have the greatest friends; they are always willing to appease my artistic whims!
I’ve been seeing quite a few digitally “cross-processed” photos lately and it is all the rage on the photography blogs that I follow. To provide a little background, cross-processing was popular in the 1980’s when photographers processed slide film and color film using chemicals designed for the opposite type of film. This process usually results in blown-out highlights and bluish shadows. It also turns reds to magenta, pinks to purples, and whites turn a yellow-green.
Given the clothing that Pam was wearing for the photo shoot I thought it might work. Do you agree?
